Right along the main drag of Milwaukee Street stands a small stand
alone restaurant (near Target) at 535 N. Milwaukee Street. ROMiOS of
Boise is a rather misinterpreted family restaurant. Is it Italian? It
is Greek? It is just pizza? Fast forward from the former days of
Schlotzsky’s Deli where the current owners have completely redone the
interior with brick and wood accents. This family restaurant serves
authentic Italian and Greek homemade meals. You’ll find pizza and
calzones, pasta, salads, and chicken parmesan plus a few menu surprises
such as gyros and souvlaki. Service is quick and friendly.
As of December 2008 there’s a new offering of any large pizza for $15.99 from 4 until 6 pm daily. We shared a large pizza, half Zorba and half Complete Combo. Our server told us Zorba is one of their best sellers. It’s a Greek pizza with onions, tomatoes, olives, gyro meat, and feta and mozzarella cheeses, served with a very pungent Tzatziki (cucumber and yogurt) sauce on the side. The Complete Combo is what the name suggests: mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives, tomatoes, mozzarella & feta cheese, salami, pepperoni, Italian sausage and Canadian bacon. The pizzas are tasty and absolutely loaded with toppings! For $1.99 each, a bargain at today’s food prices, we ordered a small house salad and a Caesar salad. Both salads contained crisp ingredients, plenty of cheese and flavor packed salad dressings. There’s a limited selection of beer and wine as well as a small but eye catching dessert menu including tiramisu or tableside s’mores.
