shige's may lack in ambiance, but their prices are reasonable and sushi is yummy! sometimes services is inconsistent but overall a good place to go downtown.

Warm Fish
I stoped eating at Shiges about 3 years ago after they served me warm pieces of fish. I think the problem is that they did not let the rice cool before placing the fish on top. This is a big no no in the sushi world. I now always go to Fujiyama or Sakura religiously.

Fantastic food with poor service management
We were there because of a friend's strong recommendation. Our appetizer was fantastic but arrived 30 minutes later after the order. The waitress had been very good to us throughout the waiting but she was mostly occupied by another big party of 24. We recognized her effort to serve other two tables of 2 while serving such a big table. What was weird was that there were other waitresses, each of them served two to four tables with at most total 12 customers. Should the service manager be alerted at such situation and did prompt adjustment?
