With the opening of Genki Sushi and Salads (the week of July 22, 2007), Southeast Boise finally has a local destination for a quick sushi fix. Japanese for "healthy, robust, vibrant") Genki is just that. The atmosphere is fresh and modern and the menu is extensive enough to please non-sushi lovers too. They're open daily for lunch and dinner serving a variety of traditional and specialty rolls in addition to a selection of hot entrees.

Great New Menu
I've been a fan of this place since it opened, and am happy to say they've added a lot of hot Asian-style entees to their menu and removed salads (who wants to eat a salad in winter anyway?). The sukiyaki is great with steamed rice, and the garlic shrimp was perfect. My friend's a vegetarian and had the spicy tofu and has been back at least ten times just for that dish.

The best news is that the place has kept its prices down, so a great Asian lunch or dinner sets you back less than $10

Sushi Lover
I have to say that this place was the worst Sushi I have ever had! The rice was even vinegared and the seaweed was chewy! The tuna and salmon were questionable, so we didn't eat them. Decent prices and idea, but need to work on "authenticity"!

Great sushi. Great prices
I bought the most expensive dish and got soup and a drink -- they have four kinds of really good iced tea, plus coke stuff -- and it all cost less than $10. plus, it was better than the $20 stuff you find at other places!
