Bardenay.....is ok I ate at bardenay monday night with my girl. I am a chef myself so it is hard to go out and eat somewhere other than my restaraunt without picking apart my dish. the service was awesome. we were immediatley seatedand served our rinks.....coors light draft for me and coke for the lady. I must say that the liquor and drink selections are awesome. My girl had the fettucine with pesto and grilled chicken. It was awesome, nothing bad out of my couple bites! I had the spaghetti puttenesca with grilled shrimp. The noodles were way undercooked.....sauce was really watery with no garlic at all! And i only got one tiny piece of bread. if you are gonna serve a watery sauce, more bread would be nice. the shrimp were overcooked. I give our experience a 7 of 10..... good atmosphere, good drinks! but ill stick to a place i went to in nampa where it was awesome.....some new steakhouse....i forgot the name, but it was good......barby's or something? anyway, i reccomend bardenay fo show! |

One of Boise's Best Hands down the best c**ktails in town, and a great beer selection. They make their own liquor and all of it is good. The distilling equipment is in plain view from all seats. It looks nice and adds to the atmosphere. They do a great job of decorating for holidays. The food is excellent and so are the prices. Service has been hit & miss, but when there's been a problem the management has always fixed it. |

Bardenay's I work for Home Depot, and I am a member of the In Focus team which deals with store safety and shrink. Every month you have to take a quiz about a specific safety and shrink topic that is recorded by Atlanta, our main office. Our store has scored 100% the last couple of months and we have received a $200 reward. The first time, we used it for the store and gave them ice cream. This time around, we were told we could use the award towards lunch for us In Focus members. Last week, six of the eight members of the Eagle Home Depot In Focus team (Brett, Melody, Sarah, Donna, Patty, and myself) went to lunch at Bardenay, a nice little bistro/pub on the Eagle River. We were allowed to seat ourselves at one of the high bar tables in the middle of the restaurant, and our waitress was there quickly to get our drink orders. We weren't allowed to drink on Home Depot, so we drank either soda or iced tea while perusing the extensive and reasonably priced menu. We all wanted appetizers, but Sarah, Patty, and Donna turned their noses up to the rest of us and our choice of Calamari and chose and order of Bruschetta. The appetizers came quickly, and the calamari was really good and not tough and had a cilantro and lime infused tartar sauce for dipping along with some coleslaw. The bruschetta, which I didn't try, looked good with huge slices of bread with a seasoned tomato topping. Brett and I tried to get Sarah to try the calamari, but we failed miserably in our efforts. For entrees, Melody, Brett, and Sarah had the Grilled Salmon with Caesar Salad. Patty and Donna had the lunch special, which was a Chipoltle Chicken Sandwich with soup or salad, and our Weight Watcher members had soup with their entrees. I felt like pasta and had the Fettucini Alfredo with Spicy Prawns. Our lunches came within a short time of ordering, and everything looked great. The salmon dishes were huge with nice grilled salmon and a healthy serving of salad. Sarah said Caesar Salad was her favorite salad and enjoyed every bit of it. My Fettucini was a moderate portion with a good creamy sauce and the shrimp was on top of the pasta and sauce grilled with a mildly spicy rub on it. I ate every bite. Patty and Donna said their sandwiches were very good. Everyone was full after eating, and we passed on dessert (this time). Our bill was pretty decent, and we still have some of our reward left, but don't know what we are going to do with it. Another In Focus lunch or give it to the store? Who knows! Bardenay is open seven days a week and serves lunch and dinner. Look out for the lunch specials if you go for lunch and the extensive beer menu. Next time, I hope to go and try them out! |
