Terrible dining experience
I have never before felt compelled to write an unfavorable review about a restaurant or service, but I believe in this case it is completely warranted. I visited Chandler’s last Friday night for dinner with my daughters, following the death of my mother. My younger daughter and I arrived promptly for our 6 pm reservation, but the elder was unexpectedly detained (she is a nurse; these things do happen). My daughter and I ordered a bottle of wine, bottled water, and an appetizer to share while waiting. Time passed, and we ordered another appetizer. At 6:30, the sommelier approached our table and pointedly asked when our guest was expected, as they “needed the table.” I was nearly speechless. We had made the restaurant aware both when we made the reservation and later when we arrived that it was a dinner meant to mourn my mother’s death. We had ordered and consumed at that time more than ample “billable product” to justify our “table time” and would eventually end up spending well over $250 for the meal and drinks that evening. It was absolutely inexcusable for a staff member to conduct himself in this manner. If I had been made aware when placing the reservation that the table would be needed for another party and that we were to rush our meal to accommodate a later seating, I would have selected another restaurant. I explained our situation (again) to the sommelier and he eventually left us alone. My other daughter arrived within minutes. As if this weren’t enough, when we later decided to order dessert, we were asked AGAIN to be moved to a “booth” as the “table was needed.” I have been fortunate to have dined at some of the finest restaurants in this world and have NEVER experienced such demeaning and inappropriate behavior. I will not return to this restaurant and believe that others should be made aware of this “time out” seating policy and disrespectful treatment by staff.

Simply Wow
Had dinner with my wife at Chandler's the other night and all I have to say is WOW. This is the quintessential high end restaurant in the area, perhaps even in the Northwest.

From the time you walk into Chandler's you know what I mean.

Chandlers is the real deal
Chandlers lives up to the traditional high end steak house concept that they are going for. Great quality food, great service by older servers not the younger drama types you see elsewhere. Strong drinks and good jazz. The place is expensive but that is to be expected if you want to be top notch. On of the best restaurants in town!

Firstly I have to say the food here is national standard and I have never had a bad meal the several time we have eaten there.
I took my wife there for mothers days. She ordered the special "surf and turf" and I joined here. The bill for the meal was over $200 without alcohol. It was good but not that good. The fact that they padded the 15% tip with an extra $20 was the last straw. I won't be back I am done with them. They are plenty busy so they do not need my Ss! By all means eat there but stick to the fixed price menu unless money is no object

Top Notch
So I had no reservation and ate in the bar/lounge but none the worse for ware this place is terrific. Service was spotless and the food was superb. I've had the privilege of living and dining in some really wonderful areas of the world and have always enjoyed a great steak and my assessment of Chandler's is this place is not to missed. The Cowboy Steak (Ribeye) is mouth watering (medium as suggested on the menu was excellent) and although many of the sides caught my eye I had the corn chowder, which with a touch of spice is a nice compliment to the rich/bold steak. For desert the cheesecake was mouth watering. The restaurant also boasts a fine wine list with a limited but sufficient list of fine wines by the glass. Although I found the bar/lounge area as enchanting as I suspect the dinning area would have been you'll need a reservation to sit in the dinning area, but even if you just walk in on a late whim you won't be disappointed.

Bring your own wine and pay the corkage!
Great service, good food but spendy for the regular joe. definately a special occasion place.
We had 3 apps and 3 beers in the bar, BAM 75 bucks... then a pre fix meal for 36.00 that included all three corses, with one more salad two more entrees and one more dessert, with two 42.00 bottles of wine (one of the cheaper on the wine list) and BAM over 300 bucks plus tip... thank God my boss paid, it would have been my car payment to get out of there...

When I?ve been in Sun Valley I find myself spending so much money already that I usually dine in the more casual spots. If the dinning episode I took the pleasure in last week at Chandlers in Boise is any indication of what I could have been enjoying in Sun Valley all these years I would have drove there just to dine! I am happy there is now a total dinning experience available in Boise.
